Blox Fruits Trading Guide: How Trading Works

Trading is one of the fastest ways to get the fruits you actually want in Blox Fruits. Instead of waiting for the dealer to stock a specific fruit or burning Beli on gacha rolls, you can swap fruits directly with other players — turning something you do not want into something you do.

But trading has rules, limits, and its own unwritten etiquette, and the trade window is final: once a trade completes, there is no undo button. This guide walks through everything step by step — unlocking trading, how the trade window works, what can and cannot be traded, physical vs permanent fruits, and how to finish every trade safely.

What Trading Is and Why It Matters

Trading in Blox Fruits is a direct swap of items between two players. You offer fruits or gamepasses, the other player offers theirs, and if both sides agree, the items change hands on the spot.

Most players trade for one simple reason: control. The Blox Fruit Dealer only stocks a few fruits at a time, and the good ones rarely appear when you want them. Gacha rolls are pure luck. Trading lets you convert an unwanted fruit into a wanted one without waiting on the dealer or gambling your Beli away.

It also creates a genuine player economy. Fruits carry community-agreed values, some are easy to move and some are not, and learning that market is a skill of its own. Before you accept any offer, run it through our trade calculator — it takes ten seconds and saves a lot of regret.

Unlocking Trading: The Requirements

You cannot trade from the moment you start the game. Trading unlocks once you reach the Second Sea, which means hitting level 700 and completing the quest chain that takes you there.

Once you arrive, head to the Café in the Kingdom of Rose. It is a safe zone, so nobody can attack you while you negotiate. (In the Third Sea, the Mansion serves the same purpose.) Find a trading table, sit down, and wait for another player to join you — the trade window opens automatically when both seats are taken.

A few hard limits worth knowing: each side of a trade can hold up to four items, and the game caps you at five trades every eight hours, so make each one count. The game also blocks trades where the in-game values are wildly lopsided — roughly speaking, the gap cannot exceed about 40%. That rule uses the game's internal values, not community trade values, so always judge fairness yourself with the calculator before you commit.

What You Can (and Cannot) Trade

The trade window accepts three kinds of items:

  • Physical fruits — fruits sitting in your inventory. This is what the vast majority of trades are built from.
  • Stored permanent fruits — permanent fruits you own and have stored can be offered in some cases. Think very carefully before doing this (more on that below).
  • Gamepasses — passes such as 2x Mastery or extra fruit storage can change hands too, and high-end passes carry serious trade weight. You can see typical values on our value list.

What you cannot trade: Beli, fragments, stats, and swords. If someone promises to trade you Beli or a sword, they are either confused or setting up a scam — walk away and read our scam prevention guide before you trade with strangers again.

One practical note: make sure you have free inventory space before a trade. A trade can fail if either side has no room for what they are receiving, which is an annoying way to lose a good deal.

Physical vs Permanent Fruits

Every fruit in Blox Fruits exists in two forms, and the difference matters enormously when trading.

A physical fruit is a single item in your inventory. If you eat it, it is gone — replaced by whatever fruit you eat next. Physical fruits are the everyday currency of trading: relatively easy to obtain and easy to move.

A permanent fruit is bound to your account. You can equip it, unequip it, and switch to other fruits without ever losing it. That permanence makes them far more valuable — a permanent version of a fruit is typically worth many times its physical version, and traders pay a real premium for that security.

Here is the critical part: if you trade away a permanent fruit, you lose that permanence for good. There is no undo. Only ever trade a permanent fruit if you are completely sure about the deal — check the value list, run both sides through the trade calculator, and sleep on the big ones before you sit at the table.

The Trade Window, Step by Step

Here is exactly what happens once you and another player sit down at a trading table:

  1. Add your items. Click the + button on your side and pick up to four items from your inventory.
  2. Review their offer. Their items appear on the other side. Read every item name carefully — scammers rely on rushed players who skim.
  3. Both players hit Accept. Nothing happens until both sides confirm the offer.
  4. The countdown runs. A short timer of around ten seconds gives both players a final chance to cancel. Use it. Re-read the offer instead of staring at the timer.
  5. Done. The items swap into each inventory, and the trade is permanent.

If anything changes during the countdown — an item gets swapped or removed — the accept resets and both players must confirm again. That is your safety net, and it exists for a reason. Never let anyone rush you past it; a legitimate trader will always wait.

Trade Etiquette and Finding Traders

Good traders get better deals, because people remember who was fair and who was not. A few unwritten rules that will serve you well:

  • Know your values before you sit down. Nothing kills a negotiation faster than checking every single offer mid-trade. Do your homework on the value list first.
  • Do not spam. Firing trade requests at everyone in the Café is the fastest way to get ignored by the entire server.
  • Be clear about what you want. "Trading X, looking for Y" gets responses. "Trade me" does not.
  • Do not beg. Asking for free fruits burns goodwill you will need later when real trades are on the table.
  • Stay polite, even when declining. A friendly "no thanks" keeps the door open for the next trade with that player.

The busiest trading happens at the Café in the Second Sea and the Mansion in the Third Sea — join a populated server and hang around the tables. Trading-focused community servers exist too, but treat every stranger with the same caution: verify values with the calculator, never share account details, and never agree to complete a trade outside the in-game window. Our guide to avoiding scams covers the common tricks in detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you have reached the Second Sea, trading itself costs nothing. The fruits and passes you offer were earned in-game or obtained earlier — but opening the trade window and completing trades is free.

No. The trade window only accepts fruits, eligible stored permanent fruits, and gamepasses. Anyone claiming they can trade you Beli is not using the real trade system, so treat the offer as a scam.

No. Once the countdown finishes, the trade is final and it will not be undone. That is why the countdown exists — use those seconds to re-read both sides of the offer before it completes.

The game limits you to five trades every eight hours per account. Plan around that limit: check values first, and save your trades for offers that are actually worth making.
